The Hyderabad Police have requested the CBI director to issue a Red Corner Notice against T. Prabhakar Rao, former chief of the Special Intelligence Bureau, and Shravan Kumar Rao, managing director of I-News, who are currently residing in the United States.
City Police Commissioner Kothakota Sreenivasa Reddy shared that the authorities have also reached out to the US Embassy and immigration officials, highlighting the seriousness of the charges and alleging that the accused are misusing their visas.
We are hopeful of swift action. The case will move forward once the main suspects are apprehended. We’ve also alerted the US Consul General regarding their visa violations. Progress in this matter is expected soon, stated Commissioner Reddy.
The police have already initiated the process of applying for Red Corner Notices and are pushing for an expedited resolution. The commissioner further mentioned that the other suspects currently in custody are struggling to obtain bail due to the gravity of the crime, which involves severe privacy breaches.
When questioned about potential notices against political figures as part of the ongoing investigation, Reddy responded, “As the case unfolds, such actions are indeed possible.
