The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) and the Indian Institute of Remote Sensing (IIRS) have launched the registration process for a comprehensive 5-day online course on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML). Scheduled from August 19 to August 23, 2024, this short-term program aims to provide participants with foundational knowledge in AI and ML.
Tailored for professionals keen on integrating AI, ML, and Deep Learning (DL) into geospatial applications, the course is also ideal for students and researchers in civil engineering, computer science, data analytics, geoinformatics, and geomatics. The course is offered at no cost, but spaces are limited and will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
Participants will delve into AI, ML, and DL concepts, covering introductory topics and advanced techniques. The curriculum includes supervised, unsupervised, and reinforcement learning methods, along with deep learning models such as CNN, RNN, R-CNN, Faster R-CNN, SSD, and YOLO. Practical applications will be explored through tools like Google Earth Engine and Python programming for model development.
Interested individuals can apply through the provided link. Registration approval is automatic, and participants will receive login credentials for the ISRO Learning Management System (LMS). A ‘Course Participation Certificate’ will be awarded upon completing the course with a minimum attendance of 70%, available for download from the ISRO LMS.
This online course is part of the IIRS Outreach Programme, which has grown significantly since its inception in 2007. Initially involving 12 institutions, the program now encompasses over 3,500 network institutes, including universities, academic institutions, government departments, research institutes, and NGOs, providing widespread benefits to various stakeholders.
