The Government has approved the establishment of seven PM Mega Integrated Textile Region and Apparel (PM MITRA) Parks at Greenfield and Brownfield sites across the country. These parks will feature world-class infrastructure, including plug-and-play facilities, with a budget allocation of ₹4,445 crores over a seven-year period, extending until 2027-28. The selected sites for these parks are Tamil Nadu (Virudhnagar), Telangana (Warangal), Gujarat (Navsari), Karnataka (Kalaburagi), Madhya Pradesh (Dhar), Uttar Pradesh (Lucknow), and Maharashtra (Amravati).
Each of these parks is expected to attract significant investment, estimated at ₹10,000 crores from both domestic and foreign sources, thereby boosting the local economy and enhancing the textile ecosystem.
For the five Greenfield sites—Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, and Uttar Pradesh—Special Purpose Vehicles (SPVs) have been established. For the Brownfield sites in Maharashtra and Telangana, existing implementation arrangements will continue as per the guidelines.
Under the PM MITRA Park Scheme, both Greenfield and Brownfield sites are eligible for Development Capital Support (DCS) to create core infrastructure. The government will provide up to 30% of the project cost, with a maximum support of ₹500 crores per Greenfield park and ₹200 crores per Brownfield park. Additionally, Competitive Incentive Support (CIS) of up to ₹300 crores per park will be offered to individual manufacturing units that set up operations early, subject to the scheme’s guidelines.
