Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed deep concern for those impacted by the recent landslide in Wayanad, Kerala, assuring that the Central Government will provide all necessary support to aid relief efforts. “Our prayers are with those affected, and the Centre stands with the State Government to ensure comprehensive assistance,” he stated.
During his visit to the landslide-hit areas, following an aerial survey, Prime Minister Modi met with injured patients and interacted with those residing in relief camps. In a review meeting, he reiterated the Central Government’s commitment to stand by the disaster victims during this challenging time, emphasizing that a detailed report will be submitted by the Chief Minister.
Prime Minister Modi highlighted that he has been closely monitoring the rescue operations and maintaining regular communication with the authorities. He also mentioned that disaster management funds have already been allocated, with additional resources to be released promptly.
Furthermore, the Prime Minister commended the swift response of central agencies, including the NDRF, SDRF, Army, State Police, local medical teams, NGOs, and other service-oriented organizations, who quickly mobilized to conduct search and rescue operations.
Modi also underscored the importance of developing long-term strategies to support those affected, particularly children who have lost their families. He expressed confidence that the state government, with support from the Centre, will play a vital role in these efforts.
Lastly, Prime Minister Modi assured the residents of Wayanad that the Central Government and the nation will do everything possible to restore livelihoods in the region, including rebuilding homes, schools, infrastructure, and securing the future of the children.
