Today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke at the Economic Times World Leaders Forum in New Delhi, emphasizing India’s transformative journey and future aspirations.
In his address, Prime Minister Modi highlighted the government’s mantra of “Reform, Perform, and Transform,” which he said has driven substantial progress over the past decade. He noted that 250 million people have emerged from poverty, creating a new “Neo-Middle Class” and underscored India’s goal of becoming a global manufacturing hub.
“Today’s India is a land of opportunities,” Modi declared, emphasizing the country’s commitment to supporting wealth creators. He referred to this decade as a “lift-off decade” for India, driven by forward-thinking policies and infrastructure improvements aimed at enhancing citizens’ quality of life.
The Prime Minister compared India’s impressive economic performance over the last decade to global growth, highlighting that India’s economy grew by 90% compared to the global average of 35%. This growth is attributed to the government’s focus on sustained reform and progress.
Modi reflected on the government’s achievements and reforms, including the delivery of good governance and the transformative impact on millions of lives. He praised the support from the Indian electorate, who have endorsed political stability and economic growth.
In his speech, the Prime Minister also highlighted several recent infrastructure and development milestones, including the foundation of Vadhvan Port, the creation of new industrial cities, and expansions in transportation and metro systems. He emphasized that infrastructure development is aimed at improving the ease of living for citizens, citing the introduction of modern Vande Bharat trains as an example.
Modi further discussed the government’s focus on creating a modern and efficient transportation network, expanding connectivity to smaller cities, and integrating technology into infrastructure projects. He underscored the importance of initiatives like the PM Gati Shakti National Master Plan in fostering economic growth and employment.
Looking ahead, Modi outlined the government’s vision for India to become a leading global food supplier and a hub for green energy. He mentioned ambitious targets, such as producing 5 million tons of green hydrogen and generating 500 gigawatts of renewable energy by 2030.
The Prime Minister also highlighted the role of tourism in India’s growth and the need for global inclusive development, particularly for the Global South. He emphasized India’s commitment to driving progress and supporting the development of emerging economies.
Concluding his address, Modi called on all stakeholders to contribute to India’s growth and global leadership. He urged Indians both at home and abroad to unite in the quest for national prosperity, which he believes will ultimately benefit the world.
