The Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying celebrated National Sports Day 2024 today at Krishi Bhawan, New Delhi, honoring the legacy of Major Dhyan Chand and promoting sports and physical fitness.
Minister of State for Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Prof. S.P. Singh Baghel, spearheaded the event, taking a pledge to integrate physical activity and sports into everyday life. Prof. Baghel emphasized the importance of nationwide promotion of sports and fitness.
The event included a walkathon with Secretary of the Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Ms. Alka Upadhyaya, and other department officials participating.
National Sports Day, held annually, commemorates the birth anniversary of Major Dhyan Chand, a legendary figure in field hockey history.
