The Department of Science and Technology (DST) has initiated the Swachhata Hi Sewa 2024 campaign to foster a strong sense of commitment towards cleanliness and sanitation. Launched on September 17, 2024, the campaign extends to all DST buildings, autonomous bodies, and subordinate offices nationwide.
As part of the initiative, the Secretary of DST led the Swachhata Pledge, encouraging officers and staff to promote a cleaner, garbage-free India. A total of 395 DST personnel participated in the pledge, alongside 2957 employees from 26 autonomous bodies and 2549 employees from subordinate offices.
In a bid to further spread awareness, DST organized a drawing and painting competition on September 17-18, 2024, engaging students across various states and union territories on the theme “Clean India of My Dream.”
Additionally, between September 20 and 30, 2024, lectures and awareness sessions on “Cleanliness and Its Impact on Health” will be held at government schools near Technology Bhawan. A health checkup and distribution of safety gear and cleaning tools are also scheduled for DST sanitation workers on September 26, 2024.
This campaign underscores DST’s dedication to achieving its cleanliness objectives within the stipulated timeframe.
