In response to the recent alleged assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump, billionaire Elon Musk questioned why there seems to be no similar threats against President Joe Biden or Vice President Kamala Harris.
On Sunday, Trump was reportedly targeted in an assassination attempt in Florida, according to the FBI. Fortunately, both Trump and his campaign have confirmed that he is unharmed.
The U.S. Secret Service reported that agents fired upon a suspect found near Trump’s golf course, recovering an AK-47 style rifle and a GoPro camera. The suspect, identified as Ryan Wesley Routh, was concealed in the bushes, but it remains unclear if he fired any shots toward Trump.
Responding to a post on X asking why there was an attempt on Trump’s life, Musk wrote, “And no one is even trying to assassinate Biden/Kamala.”
Musk, known for his support of Trump, will see the former president challenge Vice President Harris in the upcoming presidential election.
The FBI is currently investigating the incident, and officials have commended the Secret Service for their swift response. The agency had faced criticism following a previous incident in Pennsylvania where a gunman was able to shoot at Trump.
