The registration window for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2025 will officially close tomorrow. Eligible candidates who haven’t yet applied can complete their registration by visiting the official GATE 2025 website. For those who miss the deadline, there is still an opportunity to apply with a late fee until October 7, 2024.
GATE 2025 Exam Schedule
The GATE 2025 exam will be held on February 1, 2, 15, and 16, 2025, offering admission to postgraduate engineering programs. The exam will be conducted in a computer-based test (CBT) format, with exam centers spread across eight different zones. The official results are expected to be released on March 19, 2025.
GATE 2025 Exam Pattern
The GATE 2025 exam will feature 30 papers, allowing candidates to choose one or two papers from approved combinations. Each paper will last for 3 hours, and the scores will be valid for three years from the date of the result announcement.
Negative Marking System:
For every wrong answer in a 1-mark MCQ, 1/3 of a mark will be deducted.
For incorrect answers in a 2-mark MCQ, 2/3 of a mark will be deducted.
GATE 2025 Eligibility Criteria
Before applying, candidates should ensure they meet the eligibility criteria. Students in their 3rd year or higher of an undergraduate program, or those who have completed a government-approved degree in Engineering, Technology, Architecture, Science, Commerce, Arts, or Humanities, are eligible to appear for GATE 2025.
GATE is a nationwide exam that evaluates a candidate’s understanding of various undergraduate-level subjects. Passing the GATE exam opens doors to Master’s and Doctoral programs, with the possibility of financial aid. Additionally, GATE scores are widely accepted by academic institutions and Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) for recruitment.
