The Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME) officially launched the ‘Swachhata Hi Seva 2024 Campaign’ on September 17, 2024, with Union Minister Shri Jitan Ram Manjhi leading the initiative. During the event, a Swachhata Pledge was taken by the Ministry, its associated organizations, and over 150 field formations who participated virtually.
Running from September 17 to October 2, 2024, the campaign commemorates a decade of the Swachh Bharat Mission, adopting the theme “Swabhav Swachhata – Sanskaar Swachhata” to promote cleanliness as a natural habit and a societal value. The campaign encourages public participation, with a special focus on the contributions of sanitation workers, or Safai Mitras, and emphasizes collective responsibility for cleanliness.
**Key Campaign Highlights:**
– **Cleanliness Target Units (CTUs):** Specific areas needing attention will be cleaned through community-driven Shramdaan efforts, transforming them into well-maintained spaces.
Recognition of Safai Mitras: Sanitation workers will receive safety kits, and special health camps will be organized to raise awareness about social security schemes and ensure their well-being.
Tree Plantation Drives: To promote environmental sustainability, tree-planting initiatives, under the banner ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam,’ will support the broader goal of a cleaner, greener India.
Community Engagement: The Ministry will mobilize youth and local communities, encouraging them to participate in cleanliness drives as part of a national effort.
In preparation for the campaign, nodal officers have been appointed to coordinate efforts at both the Ministry and field levels. Promotional campaigns through banners, hoardings, and social media are also in place to raise awareness.
The Ministry calls on citizens across the nation to embrace cleanliness as part of daily life and to actively participate in the Swachhata Hi Seva 2024 campaign.
