Over 16 Companies Participate in Job Fair Aimed at Providing Employment to Skilled Youth
The National Institute of Electronics & Information Technology (NIELIT), an autonomous body under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India, hosted the “Yuva Rojgar Mela” on September 29, 2024, at its Delhi campus located on Pankha Road, Janakpuri. The event was designed to provide job placement opportunities for NIELIT’s alumni and students, attracting over 1,300 registered participants. Sixteen companies actively engaged in the fair, offering more than 1,000 job openings across various sectors.
Dr. Madan Mohan Tripathi, Director General of NIELIT and Vice-Chancellor of NIELIT Deemed to be University, inaugurated the event. Addressing the audience, Dr. Tripathi highlighted the significance of these job fairs in helping bridge the skills gap in India. He noted that NIELIT’s job fairs last year resulted in over 6,000 offer letters being distributed, with the numbers expected to grow further in 2024. Dr. Tripathi also praised the dedicated efforts of the NIELIT Delhi team in successfully organizing the event and appreciated the participation of the 16 companies that came forward to offer job placements.
The event also featured an informative session on “Soft Skills – CV Building” conducted by Shri Mohammad Junaid, Assistant Manager at Digital India Corporation, MeitY, aimed at helping participants enhance their employability skills.
Several prominent companies set up placement desks at the job fair, including Tech Mahindra, PAYTM, Axis Bank, Hinduja Housing Finance, and Frankfinn, among others. These companies were actively involved in shortlisting candidates for positions in various industries.
NIELIT has established itself as a leading institution in the field of Information, Electronics, and Communication Technology (IECT). With a robust network of over 52 centers across India, NIELIT continues to play a crucial role in skill development and capacity building. Its designation as a Deemed University at NIELIT Ropar, with 11 constituent units nationwide, reinforces its commitment to fostering education and job-readiness.
The “Yuva Rojgar Mela” reflects NIELIT’s ongoing dedication to creating employment pathways for its students and alumni, with plans to continue organizing similar job fairs in the future.
