Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan, emphasized that the welfare of farmers is a top priority for Prime Minister Narendra Modi, describing the service of farmers as a form of worship. Recently, Madhya Pradesh farmers expressed concerns as soybean prices fell below the Minimum Support Price (MSP). Similar measures have been implemented in states like Maharashtra and Karnataka.
On the morning of September 10, Shri Chouhan directed that soybeans be purchased at MSP. Following this directive, the Madhya Pradesh government’s Mohan Cabinet swiftly proposed the MSP purchase plan. By the evening, the central government received and approved the proposal.
Shri Chouhan assured farmers that the MSP rates for soybeans would be honored, guaranteeing that they would receive fair compensation for their hard work. The approval is expected to alleviate the concerns of Madhya Pradesh’s soybean farmers and ensure they are paid appropriately for their produce.
