Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s planned visit to Pune, Maharashtra, was canceled on Thursday due to heavy rainfall. Following this, NCP-SCP MP Supriya Sule took a sharp jab at the Prime Minister, pointing out that this would have marked the sixth time he inaugurated the same metro project in Pune.
Sule remarked, The metro, which PM Modi was supposed to inaugurate, has already seen five previous inaugurations by him. This would have been the sixth one for the same project.
She also criticized the BJP-Shiv Sena-led Maharashtra government, questioning why they would repeatedly request the Prime Minister’s presence for the same event, disrupting his schedule.
Surprisingly, the state government is asking for time from such a busy person as PM Modi for the same task, she added.
During his visit, PM Modi was set to launch the Pune Metro line from District Court to Swargate and unveil development projects totaling ₹22,600 crore.
