The Pharmaceuticals & Medical Devices Bureau of India (PMBI), the implementing agency for the Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana (PMBJP), is actively participating in the 43rd edition of the India International Trade Fair (IITF) 2024. The exhibition highlights the significant achievements and initiatives under PMBJP, focusing on the mission to provide affordable and high-quality medicines across India.
Shri Ravi Dadhich, CEO of PMBI, visited the PMBJP stall to oversee its operations. He expressed his appreciation for the stall’s efforts in spreading awareness about the Government of India’s noble initiative to make healthcare more affordable and accessible to all citizens.
The exhibition, which began on November 14, 2024, will run until November 27, 2024. During this time, various public awareness activities will be conducted at the Jan Aushadhi stall to inform visitors about the PMBJP scheme.
The Government of India is working towards expanding the reach of PMBJP by increasing the number of Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Kendras (PMBJKs) to 25,000 by March 2027. This growth reflects the increasing public trust in the initiative, with over 14,000 Jan Aushadhi Kendras currently providing affordable medicines across the country.
The success of PMBJP highlights the positive impact it has had in making healthcare more accessible and reducing out-of-pocket expenses for citizens. PMBI’s participation at IITF 2024 underscores its commitment to promoting public health and supporting the vision of a healthier, more inclusive India.
