On November 22, 2024, Shri Manohar Lal, the Union Minister of Power and Housing & Urban Affairs, visited the 45 MW NHPC Nimoo Bazgo Power Station located in Leh District, UT of Ladakh. Shri R.K. Chaudhary, Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of NHPC, was present during the visit.
The Union Minister toured various sections of the power station and was briefed by Shri R.K. Chaudhary about the station’s operations, including power generation and its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives aimed at benefiting the local community.
Shri Manohar Lal commended the NHPC team for their dedication and hard work in maintaining the power station under challenging conditions. He highlighted the government’s commitment to renewable energy and environmental sustainability, urging the NHPC team to continue ensuring a stable power supply while exploring new green energy opportunities in the region.
The 45 MW NHPC Nimoo Bazgo Power Station, developed by NHPC, plays a crucial role in Ladakh’s energy infrastructure by harnessing the power of the Indus River to provide a reliable source of clean energy.
Also present at the occasion were Shri Ram Swaroop, Executive Director of NHPC Regional Office Jammu, Shri Suprakash Adhikari, Executive Director of O&M, NHPC, and Shri Jitendra Kumar, Head of Power Station at Nimoo Bazgo and Chutak Power Station, along with other senior NHPC officials and staff.
