Kuwaiti singer Mubarak Al Rashed captivated audiences by performing the iconic Indian patriotic song Saare Jahaan Se Accha at Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s community event, #HalaModi, held at the Shaikh Saad Al Abdullah Indoor Sports Complex in Kuwait. The event marked a significant moment during PM Modi’s historic two-day visit to Kuwait, the first visit by an Indian prime minister to the Gulf nation in 43 years.
Speaking to ANI, Al Rashed expressed his pride in the strong bond between Kuwait and India. “He (PM Modi) spoke about my country, Kuwait. He spoke about the relationship between the two countries. I feel proud of being Kuwaiti. He asked Kuwaitis to visit India,” shared the singer, highlighting the warmth of bilateral ties.
PM Modi received a ceremonial welcome upon his arrival on Saturday, greeted by Kuwait’s First Deputy Prime Minister, Sheikh Fahad Yousef Saud Al-Sabah, along with the Minister of Defence and Interior, Foreign Minister Abdullah Ali Al-Yahya, and other dignitaries.
In his departure statement, PM Modi emphasized the importance of strengthening ties with Kuwait. He expressed eagerness to engage with the Amir of Kuwait, the Crown Prince, and the Prime Minister, aiming to develop a roadmap for a stronger partnership benefiting the people of both nations and the wider region.
