Prime Minister Narendra Modi today met with His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The meeting focused on further enhancing the India-UAE Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, with a special emphasis on key initiatives, including the India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor (IMEEC).
PM Modi expressed his warm regards to the President of the UAE, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and expressed his satisfaction with the frequent high-level exchanges between the two nations. He particularly highlighted the September 2024 visit of His Highness Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, to India, which marked a significant milestone in the strengthening of bilateral relations.
The two leaders discussed the importance of boosting cooperation across various sectors such as technology, energy, and people-to-people ties. The Prime Minister underscored the significance of the IMEEC Corridor as a historic initiative aimed at improving regional connectivity and promoting prosperity.
Sheikh Abdullah shared his perspectives on the current situation in West Asia, to which PM Modi reaffirmed India’s commitment to supporting long-term peace, stability, and security in the region.
The Prime Minister also took the opportunity to thank the leadership of the UAE for their consistent efforts in ensuring the well-being of the large and vibrant Indian community in the country.
