Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh is set to visit Russia from December 8-10, 2024, to co-chair the 21st meeting of the India-Russia Inter-Governmental Commission on Military and Military Technical Cooperation (IRIGC-M&MTC) alongside Russian Defence Minister Mr. Andrey Belousov. The meeting, scheduled for December 10, will focus on strengthening defence ties between the two nations, including military cooperation and industrial collaboration, while also discussing regional and global issues of mutual interest.
During the three-day visit, Shri Rajnath Singh will commission the Indian Navy’s latest multi-role stealth guided missile frigate, INS Tushil, at Yantra Shipyard in Kaliningrad on December 9. Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi, Chief of the Naval Staff, will join the Raksha Mantri for the commissioning ceremony.
Additionally, Shri Rajnath Singh will pay his respects at the ‘Tomb of the Unknown Soldier’ in Moscow to honor Soviet soldiers who died during World War II. The visit will also include interactions with members of the Indian community in Russia.
