Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh chaired the District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) meeting today at the Deputy Commissioner’s office. The meeting focused on reviewing the progress of ongoing development projects and the implementation of public welfare schemes in the district.
During the meeting, Dr. Singh emphasized the need to raise awareness at the grassroots level about key government schemes, including the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, PM Vishwakarma Yojana, and Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana. He underscored the significance of providing health coverage to all senior citizens aged 70 and above under the Ayushman Bharat scheme.
Dr. Singh highlighted the dual benefits of the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, which provides free electricity to households by enabling the installation of rooftop solar panels. The scheme also incentivizes beneficiaries to sell surplus power, contributing to energy self-reliance.
On the PM Vishwakarma Yojana, the Minister stated that the scheme seeks to uplift skilled individuals in traditional crafts, ensuring the preservation of India’s cultural heritage. He added that the initiative aims to enhance the quality and market reach of handicrafts while integrating artisans into both domestic and global value chains.
Dr. Singh urged officials and Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs) to work collaboratively for the effective execution of schemes related to water, electricity, housing, and other civic amenities. He stressed the importance of improving the ease of living for residents in remote areas and reiterated the government’s commitment to enhancing educational infrastructure and healthcare services for the local population.
The meeting was attended by key officials, including DDC Chairperson Dr. Shamshad Shan, MLA Ramban Sh. Arjun Singh Raju, Deputy Commissioner Ramban Sh. Baseer-Ul-Haq Choudhary, DDC Councillors, SSP Sh. Kulbir Singh, ADDC Sh. Roshan Lal, ADC Sh. Varunjeet Singh Charak, ACR Sh. S. Harpal Singh, and CPO Dr. Shakeeb Ahmed Rather.
