- Wake up early and offer water to the Sun.
- Take a vow for the fast.
- Purify the place with Gangajal.
- Place a yellow cloth on a wooden platform.
- Set up the idol or picture of Ram and Sita.
- Dress Lord Ram in yellow and Mata Sita in red clothes.
- Recite the marriage story from Bal Kand of Ramayan.
- Chant the mantra: “ॐ जानकीवल्लभाय नमः”.
- Tie a Kalava (sacred thread) between Lord Ram and Mata Sita.
- Offer Aarti, Prasad, and Bhog.
