Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan was hospitalized after being stabbed multiple times during a home invasion at his Bandra residence early Thursday morning. The 54-year-old actor was rushed to Mumbai’s Lilavati Hospital, where he underwent emergency surgery.
The incident occurred at approximately 2:30 a.m. when Khan confronted an intruder in his 11th-floor apartment. During the altercation, Khan sustained several injuries, including one dangerously close to his spine. A team of specialists performed a 2.5-hour surgical procedure, with additional plastic surgery still ongoing. Hospital authorities have confirmed that Khan is now in stable condition.
Mumbai’s Crime Branch and local police have launched investigations, reviewing security footage and interrogating household staff. Seven specialized teams have been deployed across the city. Deputy Commissioner of Police Dixit Gedam confirmed, “The actor and the intruder had a scuffle. The actor is injured and is being treated. Investigation is ongoing.”
Khan’s representatives released a statement addressing the incident, requesting patience from fans and the media, while affirming that the matter is under police investigation.
Known as one of Bollywood’s most celebrated actors, Khan has been a prominent figure in Indian cinema for over three decades. He debuted in 1993 with “Parampara” and achieved fame with films like Dil Chahta Hai (2001), Kal Ho Naa Ho (2003), Hum Tum (2004), and Tanhaji (2020).
