As the grand Mahakumbh 2025 approaches a significant milestone with the third Amrit Snan on Basant Panchami (February 3rd), authorities in Prayagraj are making extensive preparations to ensure the safety and well-being of millions of devotees. A key focus has been on strengthening medical facilities, ensuring that healthcare services are readily available in case of emergencies. With a proactive approach, the administration has mobilized resources and deployed a dedicated medical force, reinforcing the health infrastructure across Mahakumbh Nagar.
A total of 23 hospitals, with a combined capacity of 360 beds, have been fully prepared to handle any health-related contingencies. A special medical team has meticulously assessed the arrangements, ensuring that every facility is equipped to provide immediate and effective care. The presence of a state-of-the-art central hospital with 100 beds stands as a crucial component of this medical readiness, complemented by two sub-central hospitals with 25 beds each, eight sector hospitals with 20 beds each, and two specialized infectious disease hospitals of similar capacity. These facilities have been strategically placed to ensure that medical attention is within easy reach for every devotee.
To further enhance emergency response, 10 first-aid posts with dedicated medical personnel are operational, ready to provide immediate care. In addition, ambulances and mobile medical teams have been stationed throughout the area, ensuring swift transportation of patients to hospitals whenever needed. Sanitation and hygiene measures are being strictly enforced, with specialist doctors overseeing regular health check-ups and monitoring conditions in the mela area.
A dedicated team of senior medical officers is continuously inspecting health facilities, taking necessary corrective actions to maintain efficiency. Adequate stocks of essential medicines, life-saving equipment, and other critical medical supplies have been ensured at all health centers. Information desks and help centers have also been set up to guide devotees regarding medical assistance, ensuring that no one faces difficulties in accessing healthcare during this sacred gathering.
The Mahakumbh is not just a spiritual event but a massive human congregation that demands meticulous planning and execution. The administration’s unwavering commitment to health and safety reflects its deep sense of responsibility toward the millions of devotees gathering in Prayagraj. Every possible step is being taken to provide a secure and seamless experience, allowing pilgrims to focus on their spiritual journey with peace of mind.
