New York, January 2, 2025 – A mass shooting outside the Amazura nightclub in Queens late Wednesday night left 11 people injured, according to the New York City Police Department (NYPD). The incident occurred near the popular Jamaica neighborhood venue around 11:20 PM.
Emergency services quickly arrived on the scene, with victims transported to nearby hospitals, including Long Island Jewish Hospital and Cohen’s Children Medical Center. Authorities confirmed that none of the injuries were life-threatening, and all victims are expected to recover.
Footage shared on social media shows a large police and ambulance presence outside the nightclub, which is known for its high-energy atmosphere, live performances, and DJ events. The club is located at 91-12 144th Place in Jamaica, Queens.
The NYPD has launched an investigation but has yet to release details about the shooter or the motive. This attack comes amidst heightened national concerns following the New Orleans truck attack earlier this week that claimed 15 lives.
Montenegro Shooting Leaves 10 Dead in Unrelated Incident
In a separate incident, a gunman in Montenegro went on a deadly rampage in the small town of Cetinje, killing at least 10 people. The shooter, identified as 45-year-old Aleksandar Martinovic, targeted multiple locations, including a restaurant and a family home, before fleeing. Four others sustained life-threatening injuries.
Montenegrin authorities reported that Martinovic had a history of illegal weapons possession, and a manhunt is underway in the rugged terrain west of the capital, Podgorica.
These back-to-back tragedies have reignited debates on public safety and gun control, both in the United States and globally.
