Meghalaya, known as the “Abode of Clouds,” has been celebrated for its rich cultural heritage, picturesque landscapes, and vibrant communities. The Prime Minister’s message reflects the government’s commitment to supporting the state’s ongoing growth and prosperity.
The Statehood Day commemorates the formation of Meghalaya as a full-fledged state on January 21, 1972, after being carved out of Assam. It serves as a reminder of the state’s journey toward preserving its unique identity while contributing to the nation’s progress.
