Union Minister of Commerce and Industry Shri Piyush Goyal celebrated nine years of the Startup India initiative by launching the PRABHAAV Factbook and the Bharat Startup Challenge at a special event in New Delhi. Highlighting the mission’s success, Shri Goyal attributed it to innovative government funding mechanisms, such as the Fund of Funds for Startups (FFS), managed by SIDBI, which has significantly boosted startups in Tier II and Tier III cities. He noted that private funding will further propel this movement, enabling startups to scale and contribute meaningfully to India’s economy.

An extensive guide capturing the evolution and achievements of India’s startup ecosystem from 2016 to 2024.
Showcases regional progress and the transformative journey of Indian startups.
2. Bharat Startup Challenge:
Introduces 75 sector-specific challenges, ranging from renewable energy and blockchain to agritech and social commerce.
Promises cash prizes, funding opportunities, mentorship, and networking for participating startups.
3. Startup Mahakumbh 2025:

Massive Growth: India has become the world’s third-largest startup ecosystem, growing from just 500 startups in 2016 to 1,59,157 by January 2025.

Shri Goyal highlighted India’s production of the largest number of STEM graduates globally, with women comprising 43%. He stressed the government’s commitment to empowering women entrepreneurs through initiatives like the Women Entrepreneurship Platform, providing critical resources and opportunities for success.

Shri Goyal called startups “agents of change,” addressing key global challenges in sustainability, healthcare, digital transformation, and renewable energy.
