Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Railways, and Electronics & Information Technology, Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw, unveiled two special songs dedicated to Mahakumbh 2025 in an event held in Delhi. These songs, produced by Doordarshan and Akashvani (All India Radio), are a musical tribute to India’s cultural and spiritual heritage, celebrating the grandeur of the iconic Mahakumbh Mela.
Doordarshan’s Theme Song: “Mahakumbh Hai”
The theme song “Mahakumbh Hai,” produced by Doordarshan, captures the essence of devotion, tradition, and celebration. Sung by the celebrated Padma Shri awardee Kailash Kher, the song features powerful lyrics by Aalok Shrivastav and evocative music composed by Kshitij Tarey.
The composition seamlessly blends traditional and modern musical elements, offering a heartfelt portrayal of the Mahakumbh’s cultural richness and spiritual significance. Its official music video is now accessible on Doordarshan and its digital platforms, inviting audiences to experience the vibrant spirit of the Mahakumbh.
Akashvani’s Special Composition for Prayagraj Mahakumbh
Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw also launched a unique song produced by Akashvani, titled “जय महाकुम्भ जय महाकुम्भ, पग पग जयकारा महाकुम्भ.” The composition celebrates the sacred gathering at the Triveni Sangam in Prayagraj, focusing on the spiritual and cultural resonance of the Mahakumbh Mela.
Performed by the soulful Ratan Prasanna, with music composed by Santosh Nahar and Ratan Prasanna, and lyrics penned by Abhinay Shrivastava, the song delves into the sanctity of the Mahakumbh. It portrays the ritualistic act of taking a dip at the Triveni Sangam as a moment of spiritual cleansing and fulfillment, echoing the devotion of millions of pilgrims.
