Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to embark on a significant diplomatic visit to France and the United States, underscoring India’s deepening ties with two of its key global partners. Responding to an invitation from French President Emmanuel Macron, he will first travel to France from February 10 to 12, where he will co-chair the AI Action Summit. This high-level gathering will bring together world leaders and top executives from the technology sector to discuss a collaborative approach to artificial intelligence, ensuring its development remains innovative, inclusive, secure, and beneficial for society at large.
During his visit, Modi will engage in bilateral discussions with Macron to review the progress of the 2047 Horizon Roadmap, a long-term strategic partnership between India and France. A particularly historic moment will be the inauguration of the first Indian Consulate in France, located in Marseille. Modi will also visit the International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor (ITER) project, where India, along with France and other global partners, is working on harnessing sustainable energy for the future. In a deeply symbolic gesture, he will pay tribute to the Indian soldiers who sacrificed their lives in World Wars I and II at the Mazargues War Cemetery.
Following his engagements in France, Modi will head to the United States for a two-day visit at the invitation of President Donald Trump. This meeting holds special significance as it marks their first official interaction since Trump’s recent electoral victory and inauguration. Reflecting on their previous collaboration, Modi recalled their efforts in strengthening the Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership between India and the U.S. during Trump’s first term.
The visit is expected to build upon past achievements and set the stage for even deeper cooperation between the two nations. Key areas of discussion will include technology, trade, defense, energy, and supply chain resilience, all aimed at fostering economic growth and mutual prosperity. Modi emphasized the importance of working together not only for the benefit of India and the United States but also for shaping a more stable and prosperous world. As the trip unfolds, it is poised to reaffirm India’s commitment to global leadership, strategic collaboration, and technological advancement.
