The third day of Jan Aushadhi Diwas 2025 was marked by enthusiastic participation from children, known as Bal Mitras, in 30 major cities across 30 states. Through various interactive activities, the initiative aimed to educate the younger generation about the importance of affordable and quality generic medicines available under the Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana (PMBJP). The event highlighted the significance of Jan Aushadhi Kendras, which provide cost-effective medicines to people across the country.
As part of the celebrations, nutraceutical products like Poshan were distributed to children, reinforcing the commitment to their well-being and nutrition. The day concluded on a symbolic note as participants released sky lanterns and balloons, signifying hope and awareness for a healthier future.
Currently, over 15,000 Jan Aushadhi Kendras operate across the country, ensuring accessibility to quality medicines in every district. The government has set an ambitious target to expand this network to 25,000 outlets by March 31, 2027. This initiative continues to make healthcare more affordable for millions, particularly those in rural and underserved areas.
Jan Aushadhi Diwas is observed annually on March 7 to raise awareness about the benefits of generic medicines and promote their widespread use. As in previous years, week-long events are being held from March 1 to March 7 across various locations to engage communities and spread awareness about this transformative healthcare program.
