Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with a delegation from the Japan-India Business Cooperation Committee (JIBCC) today, reaffirming the deepening economic partnership between the two nations. Led by Chairman Tatsuo Yasunaga, the 17-member delegation comprised senior executives from leading Japanese corporations spanning key sectors such as manufacturing, banking, airlines, pharmaceuticals, plant engineering, and logistics. Their discussions underscored Japan’s continued commitment to strengthening business ties with India and expanding investments in the country.
During the meeting, Mr. Yasunaga briefed the Prime Minister on the upcoming 48th Joint Meeting of the Japan-India Business Cooperation Committee, set to take place in New Delhi on March 6, 2025. The discussions focused on key areas such as fostering high-quality, cost-effective manufacturing in India, expanding production for global markets with an emphasis on Africa, and strengthening human resource development and business exchanges. The Prime Minister acknowledged the contributions of Japanese businesses in India’s economic growth and welcomed their plans for further expansion.
Expressing his appreciation for Japan’s commitment to the ‘Make in India, Make for the World’ initiative, Prime Minister Modi emphasized the importance of collaboration in skill development, which remains a cornerstone of the India-Japan partnership.
