Trade facilitation was also addressed through the Authorized Economic Operator – Mutual Recognition Agreement (AEO-MRA), which aims to streamline customs procedures for smoother trade operations.
Agriculture and environmental sustainability emerged as key areas of focus. An MoU on Horticulture was signed, fostering collaboration in research and innovation within the sector. Additionally, a Letter of Intent on Forestry highlighted joint efforts to promote sustainable forestry practices.
Education and sports also received a significant boost, with agreements promoting student exchanges, research collaborations, and institutional partnerships. The Education Cooperation Agreement will enhance academic ties, while the Memorandum of Cooperation in Sports will encourage greater engagement in athletics and sporting events between the two nations.
The visit demonstrated the growing depth of the India-New Zealand partnership, reinforcing shared values and aspirations for economic progress, regional stability, and people-to-people connections.
