22nd Divya Kala Mela Concludes at India Gate with Record Sales of Over ₹3.5 Crores

The 22nd edition of the Divya Kala Mela, organized by the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DEPwD), concluded at the iconic India Gate in New Delhi with remarkable success. Held from December 12 to 22, 2024, the event achieved record-breaking sales of over ₹3.5 crores, showcasing the exceptional entrepreneurial spirit and craftsmanship of Divyangjan (persons with disabilities).

Cultural Extravaganza at Kartavya Path

The grand finale featured Divya Kala Shakti, a mesmerizing cultural program held at Kartavya Path. This platform highlighted the diverse talents and cultural contributions of Divyangjan, captivating the audience with a rich display of dance, music, painting, and theatrical performances.

Recognition and Awards

The event honored outstanding stalls and Divyang entrepreneurs for their exceptional contributions. Shri Rajesh Aggarwal, Secretary of DEPwD, and Smt. Richa Shankar, Deputy Director General, along with other senior officials, attended the event to celebrate the achievements of Divyangjan.

In his address, Shri Aggarwal lauded the participants, stating, “Divyangjan are achieving new milestones in entrepreneurship and other fields. The government is unwavering in its dedication to their social, economic, and educational empowerment.”

Launch of NDFDC Mobile App

A significant highlight of the event was the launch of a new mobile application by the National Divyangjan Finance and Development Corporation (NDFDC). The app aims to streamline access to financial assistance and loans for Divyang entrepreneurs, marking a major step towards their economic empowerment.

A Call for Inclusivity

The 11-day extravaganza not only showcased the extraordinary talents of Divyangjan but also emphasized the importance of building a more inclusive and compassionate society. The success of the Divya Kala Mela and Divya Kala Shakti serves as a reminder of the immense potential of individuals with disabilities and the transformative impact of inclusivity.

This celebration of talent, innovation, and empowerment has left an indelible mark, inspiring communities to embrace diversity and support initiatives that uplift and empower all.
