34th Good Governance Webinar Highlights Districts

The 34th National Good Governance Webinar under the theme “Holistic Development of Districts” was held on 30th January 2026, organized by the Department of Administrative Reforms & Public Grievances (DARPG). The webinar provided a platform for sharing best practices and replicable models of governance from award-winning districts, attended virtually by over 1,000 officials from across India.
In alignment with the Prime Minister’s directive, the webinar focused on disseminating experiences of past winners of the PM’s Awards for Excellence in Public Administration. These sessions enable District Collectors and officers to understand and implement successful administrative initiatives in their respective regions.

Key District Initiatives Highlighted

The webinar showcased two prominent initiatives recognized with the PM’s Award for Excellence in Public Administration 2023:

  • Gumla District, Jharkhand: Presented by Karn Satyarthi, Deputy Commissioner, East Singhbhum, Jharkhand, highlighting local governance and developmental strategies implemented in the region.
  • Kargil District, Ladakh: Presented by Shrikant Balasaheb Suse, Deputy Commissioner/District Magistrate, Kupwara, Jammu & Kashmir, demonstrating innovative approaches to district administration and citizen engagement.

Participation and Impact

The webinar was chaired by Puneet Yadav, Additional Secretary, DARPG, and attended by senior officers from central and state administrative departments. Over 600 locations across India participated, including officials from State Administrative Training Institutes, Central Training Institutes, and District Collectors’ offices.

These webinars offer insights into the sustainability and institutionalization of award-winning initiatives, while also facilitating replication and expansion across multiple districts. By sharing detailed PowerPoint presentations and experiences, the initiative strengthens administrative capacity and promotes innovative governance practices nationwide.

National Good Governance Webinar Series

Since April 2022, the DARPG has conducted a monthly National Good Governance Webinar to encourage the replication of best practices recognized under the PM’s Awards for Excellence in Public Administration. Each session contributes to holistic district development by enabling knowledge-sharing between officials and promoting innovative, citizen-centric governance solutions.

Through this series, the government reinforces its commitment to efficient, accountable, and responsive public administration across India.
