Focus on Ease of Living for Pensioners

The workshop is being organised by the Department of Pension & Pensioners’ Welfare (DoPPW) in line with the vision of the Hon’ble Prime Minister to enhance the “Ease of Living” for pensioners and family pensioners. Over the years, the department has introduced several progressive pension reforms and digital initiatives to simplify procedures and ensure timely delivery of benefits.
These initiatives aim to empower retiring employees with accurate information and practical guidance, enabling them to plan their post-retirement life with confidence and financial security.
Comprehensive Sessions for Retiring Employees
The Pre-Retirement Counselling Workshop is designed as a holistic platform where retiring Central Government employees can gain clarity on various aspects of pension and post retirement benefits. Sessions will cover important topics such as retirement benefits, Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS), family pension, investment options, and digital platforms.
Special focus will be given to digital initiatives including the BHAVISHYA Portal,
Integrated Pensioners’ Portal, CPENGRAMS, ANUBHAV, and the Digital Life Certificate system. These sessions are expected to help employees understand and utilise online services efficiently.
Large Participation Expected
Around 350 Central Government employees currently posted across Maharashtra and due to
retire within the next 12 months are expected to benefit from the workshop. In addition to the PRC, the Department will also conduct a Pensioners’ Awareness Program for retired officials
and the 11th Bankers’ Awareness Program for Pension Disbursing Banks.
These programs aim to improve coordination between pensioners and banks while ensuring uniform understanding of pension-related rules and procedures.
Exhibition of Pension Disbursing Banks
Dr. Jitendra Singh will also inaugurate an exhibition featuring Pension Disbursing Banks
during the event. Multiple banks will participate and provide on-the-spot assistance related to pension accounts, banking services, and investment options suitable for retirees.
The exhibition will serve as a one-stop platform where retirees can interact directly with bank
representatives, seek guidance on pension accounts, and explore safe investment avenues for their pension corpus.
Strengthening Awareness and Trust
The primary objective of these workshops and awareness programs is to spread comprehensive awareness about pension rules, procedures, and digital tools among retirees and pension disbursing authorities. By fostering transparency and accessibility, the government aims to build trust and ensure dignified post-retirement life for its employees.
The 58th Pre-Retirement Counselling Workshop marks another milestone in the government’s continued efforts to modernise pension administration and support pensioners through informed decision-making.
