Union Rural Development Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has given the green light to significant road and bridge projects in the states of Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Kerala. These approvals are part of the ongoing efforts to enhance rural connectivity under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY)
Approvals:
1. Madhya Pradesh:
60 roads spanning 152.44 km have been approved, with a budget of ₹113.58 crore.
Projects include:
10 roads in Anuppur, 5 roads in Ashok Nagar, 4 roads in Balaghat, 8 roads in Chhindwara, and 4 roads in Guna.
1 road each in Gwalior, Jabalpur, Katni, Morena, and Sheopur.
7 roads in Shivpuri, 5 roads in Sidhi, 6 roads in Umaria, and 6 roads in Vidisha.
2. Maharashtra:
745.286 km of rural roadwork approved under PMGSY.
117 roads will be constructed at a total cost of ₹655.66 crore.
3. Kerala:
11 bridges have been approved under PMGSY-3, with a budget of ₹55.28 crore.
These developments are expected to significantly improve rural infrastructure, providing better access to remote areas, boosting economic growth, and enhancing the quality of life for people in rural regions.
