Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit Maharashtra this Saturday, where he will launch a range of projects in Washim and Mumbai, showcasing his government’s commitment to both agricultural modernization and urban infrastructure development.
In Washim, PM Modi will unveil initiatives designed to strengthen agricultural infrastructure. These projects include custom hiring centers, primary processing units, warehouses, and cold storage facilities, all aimed at boosting the agricultural sector. Additionally, he will dedicate 9,200 Farmer Producer Organisations to the nation, with a combined turnover of approximately ₹1,300 crore. The prime minister will also launch innovations in animal husbandry, including a unified genomic chip for cattle and indigenous sex-sorted semen technology.
Following his engagements in Washim, Modi will head to Mumbai, where he will address a public meeting in Thane. In the Mumbai Metropolitan Region, the prime minister will inaugurate and lay foundation stones for projects worth over ₹32,800 crore. Key initiatives include the ₹12,200 crore Thane Integral Ring Metro Rail Project and the ₹3,310 crore Elevated Eastern Freeway Extension from Chheda Nagar to Anand Nagar in Thane.
Additionally, Modi will launch Phase-1 of the Navi Mumbai Airport Influence Notified Area project, valued at ₹2,550 crore. A major highlight of his Mumbai visit will be the flagging off of the Metro 3 line, connecting Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) to Aarey JVLR. As a gesture of support for urban mobility, the prime minister will take a metro ride between the BKC and Santacruz stations.
