Lucknow has recorded 55 new dengue cases and 7 malaria cases within the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of dengue cases to 716 and malaria cases to 421 for the year. The city’s Chief Medical Officer (CMO) office released the data on Saturday, noting that this marks the first instance of new malaria cases after a week of no reported infections.
Fresh dengue cases have emerged from areas including Indiranagar, Chander Nagar, Aliganj, NK Road, Tudiyaganj, Bakshi ka Talab, Itaunja, Red Cross, Silver Jubilee, Chinhat, Sarojini Nagar, and Aishbagh. Malaria infections were reported in Indiranagar, Aliganj, Chinhat, Mohanlalganj, Silver Jubilee, and NK Road.
In response to the increasing cases, the city’s malaria unit surveyed 1,800 households over the last 24 hours for anti-larva treatment. During this inspection, 14 houses were identified as vulnerable to mosquito breeding. Health officials are actively educating residents on preventative measures to reduce the risk of dengue and malaria.
