The National Testing Agency (NTA) is set to announce the exam dates for key 2025 entrance exams, including the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main, National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Undergraduate (NEET-UG), Common University Entrance Test (CUET) for UG and PG programs, and the University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET). These dates will be available on the official website, nta.ac.in. Following previous trends, the NTA is expected to first release the 2025 exam calendar, which will provide tentative dates for these exams. Detailed notifications will be issued later on the respective official websites. The 2024 NTA exam calendar was published on September 19, 2023.
JEE Main, the entrance exam for admission to National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), and other participating technical institutions, is expected to be conducted in two phases.
In a related development, the Goa board has rescheduled its Class 12 final exams to accommodate the JEE Main schedule. In a statement, the board noted, “JEE 2025 is expected to conclude by the end of January, which would not leave enough time for students to adequately prepare for their board exams.” NEET UG, the entrance test for admission to medical courses, is anticipated to be held in a single session.
The CUET UG and PG exams, which serve as entry points for undergraduate and postgraduate programs at central universities and other participating institutions, will be conducted in multiple shifts.
The UGC NET held twice annually, is used to determine the eligibility of Indian nationals for Assistant Professor, Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), and PhD admissions.
