Bilva Nimantran 2024: Auspicious Date, Timings, and Rituals to Follow

RR Team, October 8, 2024October 8, 2024

Bilva Nimantran is an essential ritual that marks the beginning of the Durga Puja celebrations, especially performed on the Shashthi Tithi. In 2024, Bilva Nimantran will take place on Tuesday, October 8. This auspicious day plays a crucial role in invoking the blessings of Goddess Durga and sets the tone for the upcoming Durga Puja festivities.

Timing of Bilva Nimantran
The ritual is conducted during the Shashthi Tithi, preferably in the Sanyakal (twilight period). In cases where the Shashthi Tithi ends before Sanyakal, but overlaps with the previous day’s Panchami Tithi, the combination of both is considered ideal for performing Bilva Nimantran. The synchronization of Shashthi Tithi and Sanyakal is regarded as the most favorable time for conducting the Bilva Puja.

Bilva Nimantran 2024: Date and Timings

Bilva Nimantran Date: Tuesday, October 8, 2024
Duration: 03:39 PM to 05:59 PM (02 Hours 20 Minutes)
Shashthi Tithi Begins: 11:17 AM on October 8, 2024
Shashthi Tithi Ends: 12:14 PM on October 9, 2024

Rituals of Bilva Nimantran
The rituals performed during Bilva Nimantran are integral to the Durga Puja celebrations. They include:

Kalparambha: This ritual, known as Bodhon, recalls the historical event when Lord Rama invoked Goddess Durga to seek her blessings before his battle with Ravana.

Adhesives and Amantran: These rituals follow Bodhon and are crucial for the ceremonial aspects of Durga Puja:
Adhivas: In this ritual, the presence of Goddess Durga is symbolically established in the Bilva tree through Avahana (invocation). The tree is sanctified as a sacred abode for the Goddess.
Amantran: After Adhivas, the next step is to invite Goddess Durga to the Navpatrika Puja, which will take place the following day. This marks the formal invitation to the goddess to participate in the celebrations.

Importance of Bilva Nimantran 2024
Bilva Nimantran holds immense spiritual importance as it represents the devotion and reverence towards Goddess Durga. By performing these rituals, devotees seek her blessings for prosperity, protection, and spiritual advancement. It marks the commencement of the vibrant Durga Puja festivities, fostering a sense of unity and devotion within the community.

As the day of Bilva Nimantran approaches on October 8, 2024, devotees are encouraged to participate in the rituals with devotion and sincerity. This observance not only marks the beginning of Durga Puja but also strengthens the connection between the divine and her devotees, bringing blessings of strength, wisdom, and happiness.
