Ratan Tata, the esteemed former chairman of Tata Sons, has died at the age of 86, as confirmed by a statement from the Tata Group. He passed away on October 9 in a Mumbai hospital, where he had been receiving treatment in critical care.
In a heartfelt tribute, N Chandrasekaran, the current chairman of Tata Sons, expressed, “It is with profound sorrow that we say goodbye to Mr. Ratan Naval Tata, a remarkable leader whose invaluable contributions have not only shaped the Tata Group but also influenced the very essence of our nation.”
Just days before his passing, Tata had reassured the public that his hospitalization was related to routine medical checkups associated with his age. However, his condition worsened, leading to his admission to the hospital’s intensive care unit.
