A doctor and six construction workers were tragically killed when terrorists launched an attack at a construction site in Gagangir, Ganderbal district of Jammu and Kashmir, according to official reports. The incident occurred at a camp where the workers, employed by a private company, were working on an under-construction tunnel in the Gund area.
Security forces, including the police and army, have cordoned off the area as they search for the attackers. Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah condemned the attack, labeling it “dastardly and cowardly,” and extended prayers for the recovery of those injured, some of whom have been transferred to a hospital in Srinagar for treatment.
In response to the attack, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari also condemned the violence, expressing sorrow for the innocent laborers who were engaged in crucial infrastructure work. Gadkari conveyed his condolences to the families of the victims and wished a speedy recovery to the injured. Security operations are ongoing, and further updates are awaited.
