Dr. Ng Eng Hen, Defence Minister of Singapore, met with the President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu, at Rashtrapati Bhavan on October 22, 2024.
President Murmu extended a warm welcome to Dr. Hen and emphasized the strong bilateral ties between India and Singapore, which have grown further following Prime Minister Modi’s recent visit to Singapore and the successful conclusion of the second India-Singapore Ministerial Roundtable. She expressed her satisfaction with the upgrade of their relationship to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
The President praised Singapore for co-hosting the inaugural ASEAN-India Maritime Exercise and extended her best wishes to the armed forces of both nations as they prepare for future joint exercises.
She also highlighted the importance of increased cooperation between the defence R&D sectors of both countries to leverage cutting-edge expertise and technological innovations in the defence field.
