The President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu, attended an event marking the 75th anniversary of the Bharatiya Adim Jati Sevak Sangh in New Delhi today (October 22, 2024).
During her address, the President remarked that visiting the Thakkar Bapa Smarak Sadan felt akin to visiting a holy site. She paid tribute to the contributions of Thakkar Bapa.
President Murmu expressed her appreciation for the Bharatiya Adim Jati Sevak Sangh’s commitment to the principles laid out by Thakkar Bapa, especially its work addressing issues such as poverty, illiteracy, and poor healthcare in tribal communities. She also highlighted the organization’s efforts towards the empowerment of women and girls. She conveyed her confidence that those involved with the Sangh will continue their dedicated service, following Thakkar Bapa’s vision of public service.
