Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Abuja, Nigeria, on Sunday, November 17, 2024, marking the beginning of his five-day visit to Nigeria, Brazil, and Guyana. Invited by Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, this marks the first visit by an Indian Prime Minister to Nigeria in 17 years.
Upon arrival, PM Modi was warmly welcomed by Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, the Minister for the Federal Capital Territory. As a gesture of respect, Wike presented the Prime Minister with the “Key to the City” of Abuja, symbolizing the trust and honor bestowed upon him by the people of Nigeria, according to the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA).
From Nigeria, PM Modi will travel to Brazil and then to Guyana as part of this important diplomatic tour.
