As Cyclone Fengal approaches, several districts in Tamil Nadu have declared holidays for schools and colleges due to expected heavy rainfall. Coastal districts from Chennai to Thanjavur have been given orange alerts, along with Tirunelveli, Kanyakumari, and Tenkasi in the south, as of 10 am today. However, as of 1 pm, no new warnings have been issued for any districts.
