The BJP has appointed Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and former Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani as central observers for the Maharashtra MLAs’ meeting. The meeting is expected to elect the leader of the Maharashtra legislature party, who is likely to become the state’s next chief minister.
Maharashtra BJP president Chandrashekhar Bawankule announced that the oath-taking ceremony for the new Mahayuti government will take place on the evening of December 5, 2024, at Azad Maidan in South Mumbai.
