New Governors for Manipur, Kerala, Bihar, and More
In a significant reshuffle, President Droupadi Murmu has appointed new Governors for multiple states. Former Union Home Secretary Ajay Bhalla is now the Governor of Manipur. Retired General V.K. Singh, a former Union Minister, has been named Governor of Mizoram, while Kerala’s Governor Arif Mohammed Khan has been reassigned to Bihar. In Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district, five soldiers tragically lost their lives when their vehicle skidded off a mountain road and plunged into a gorge in the Pir Panjal Valley. Five others sustained injuries in the incident.
The Army confirmed the accident, stating that the cause was under investigation but noted that the driver may have lost control on a sharp turn. The injured soldiers were immediately rushed to a nearby medical facility for treatment.
