New Delhi, January 15, 2025: The Union Minister for Information & Broadcasting, Railways, and Electronics & IT, Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw, unveiled the Government of India Calendar for 2025 at Rail Bhawan, New Delhi. With the theme “Janbhagidari se Jankalyan” (Public Welfare through Public Participation), the calendar celebrates a decade of transformative governance and reflects the nation’s progress through public engagement.
The launch was attended by Union Minister of State for I&B and Parliamentary Affairs, Dr. L. Murugan; Secretary, I&B, Shri Sanjay Jaju; Principal Director General of PIB, Shri Dhirendra Ojha; and Director General of the Central Bureau of Communication (CBC), Shri Yogesh Baweja.
Celebrating a Decade of Transformative Governance
Marking the 11th year of good governance under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the 2025 calendar highlights India’s journey of inclusivity, transparency, and participatory governance. Designed by the Central Bureau of Communication, the calendar uses visual storytelling to reflect the success of key government initiatives like the Swachh Bharat Mission and Ayushman Bharat, showcasing the pivotal role of citizen participation in these programs.
Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw emphasized the calendar’s significance, stating, “This is not just a collection of dates; it is a reflection of our collective progress and a reminder of the transformative power of participatory governance. Our strength as a nation lies in the collective energy of our people.”
Key Themes of the 2025 Calendar
The calendar adopts the motto “सर्वेषां मङ्गलं भूयात्” (Welfare for All) and presents sectoral progress through various months:
January-April: Focuses on agriculture, women’s empowerment, and youth development. Themes include increased food production (अन्न का वर्धन हो) and acknowledging women as the nation’s strength (शक्ति रूपेण संस्थिता).
May-August: Highlights infrastructure, cleanliness (Inner Purity Leads to Outer Cleanliness), wellness (Exercise Is the Surest Recipe for Wellness), and a healthy lifestyle during the Independence Day celebrations.
September-November: Recognizes entrepreneurial contributions (उद्यमेन हि सिध्यन्ति कार्याणि) and pays tribute to Sardar Patel on Unity Day. November celebrates Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas, showcasing gratitude to India’s indigenous communities.
December: Concludes with the theme “अपरिमितं भव्यम्” (The Future Holds Limitless Possibilities), highlighting technological advancements in governance with a human-centric approach.

Published in 13 Indian languages, the calendar reflects the government’s commitment to inclusivity and cultural diversity. Distributed across gram panchayats and public institutions, it connects even the most remote areas with the government’s vision and initiatives.
