Prime Minister Narendra Modi marked the first anniversary of the Ram Lalla idol consecration at the Ayodhya temple on Saturday, paying tribute to the “centuries of sacrifice, penance, and struggle” that led to the temple’s construction. In a heartfelt message shared on social media, he highlighted the temple as a symbol of India’s cultural and spiritual legacy.
“Best wishes to all the countrymen on the first anniversary of the consecration of Ram Lalla in Ayodhya,” the Prime Minister posted. “This temple, built after centuries of sacrifice, is a great heritage of our culture and spirituality. I am confident this divine and magnificent Ram temple will inspire the realization of a developed India.” He also shared a video capturing the temple’s grandeur and significance.
Grand Three-Day Celebrations in Ayodhya
To commemorate the occasion, the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust has organized a three-day celebration from January 11 to 13. The festivities feature cultural performances by renowned artists and musicians, alongside a host of religious rituals.
The event began with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath performing the ceremonial ‘abhishek’ (ritual bath) of the Ram Lalla idol. He is also scheduled to address a public gathering at Angad Teela. The celebrations have drawn a massive influx of devotees, saints, and spiritual leaders, transforming Ayodhya into a hub of devotion and festivity.
Ayodhya: A City Adorned
Ayodhya Dham has been beautifully illuminated and decorated for the anniversary, reflecting the joyous spirit of the event. The district administration and temple trust have made extensive preparations to ensure smooth management of the large crowds of pilgrims.
The Chief Minister’s visit, lasting approximately five hours, will include participation in key ceremonies and interactions with attendees. Both Deputy Chief Ministers of Uttar Pradesh are also expected to be part of the celebrations, further emphasizing the significance of the occasion.
