The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has set up a dynamic digital exhibition at the Triveni Marg exhibition area in Prayagraj during the Mahakumbh 2025. The exhibition highlights key welfare initiatives by the Government of India, with a special focus on women empowerment and healthcare.
The exhibition features impactful schemes such as the Nari Shakti Vandan Act, which reserves 33% of seats in the Lok Sabha and State Assemblies for women. It celebrates achievements like 10 crore women becoming self-reliant through self-help groups and over 1 crore women earning the title of “Lakhpati Didis.” The government aims to increase this number by empowering 2 crore more women. Additionally, under the Nari Samman initiative, homes built under the PM Awas Yojana are being registered in the names of women, ensuring their economic security.
The Namo Drone Didi Scheme empowers women’s self-help groups by providing them with drone technology, enabling independence and innovation. So far, 1,000 women have been equipped with drones. The Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana, focused on securing the future of girl children, has seen over 4 crore accounts opened, with deposits exceeding ₹2.6 lakh crore.
In the healthcare sector, the Ayushman Bharat Scheme has provided free medical treatment of up to ₹5 lakh to nearly 68 crore beneficiaries. More than 36 crore Ayushman Cards have been issued, and 6 crore senior citizens aged 70 and above are benefiting from the Ayushman Vay Vandana Card. Medical education has also seen significant growth, with the number of seats increasing from 51,000 in 2014 to 1,18,000 today.
The exhibition further highlights the Jan Aushadhi Kendras, which now exceed 14,000, offering affordable medicines to the public. The recently launched U-WIN Portal is another innovative step to maintain vaccination records for children and women.
This grand digital initiative aligns with the theme of unity and empowerment, drawing hundreds of visitors daily. Attendees have praised the exhibition for its engaging format and its role in raising awareness about government welfare programs.
