New Delhi, January 26, 2025 – India celebrated its Republic Day with grand festivities in the capital, showcasing military precision, cultural diversity, and aerial acrobatics. The occasion marked the 75th anniversary of the nation’s secular Constitution coming into effect in 1950.
A Spectacle of Unity and Strength
Thousands of spectators gathered at Kartavya Path, formerly Rajpath, to witness the celebrations. Vibrant tableaux, cultural performances, and synchronized military marches enthralled the audience, who cheered as troops from India’s armed forces paraded in impeccable formation.
The event was graced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, President Droupadi Murmu, and other dignitaries. Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto attended as the chief guest, underscoring India’s strengthening ties with Southeast Asia.
Daredevilry and Aerial Displays
A special highlight was the jaw-dropping motorbike stunts performed by the Indian Army’s daredevil unit. Precision and coordination were on full display as soldiers executed complex formations, drawing applause from the audience.
The Indian Air Force presented a dazzling air show featuring 40 aircraft, including 22 fighter jets. The display included intricate formations and flypasts that left spectators mesmerized under the clear blue skies of New Delhi.
Cultural and Thematic Showcases
This year’s theme, “Swarnim Bharat: Virasat Aur Vikas” (Golden India: Heritage and Development), was reflected in the colorful tableaux presented by various states and ministries. These exhibits highlighted government initiatives and the nation’s cultural richness. Over 5,000 artists performed 45 traditional dance forms along the length of Kartavya Path, ensuring an inclusive viewing experience.
